In one of earlier post I have mentioned about Truecrypt which is an open source application which can encrypt disk drives and make the data safe and bar from illegal or misuse. Now in this topic I will mention about another freeware application: Safe House which also serves the same purpose but scores a little high when it comes to usability and comfort.

WHAT IS SAFEHOUSE EXPLORER?

Safe House Explorer’s encryption makes your secret or confidential files invisible and hides them from snoopers, intruders and anyone else who doesn’t have your permission to view them.

Safe House help you to add passwords to applied file and these files are encrypted with 256-bit advanced encryption to completely hide and defend your sensitive files, including photos, videos, spread sheets, databases and just about any other kind of file that you might have.

You can use Safe House on a Hard Disk (any drive), memory sticks, external USB, network drives, CD/DVD and even IPods.

Safe House creates an encrypted drive/partition in the main disk and there it will store all the files. These files are only accessible by providing the password else this remains hidden and there is no way to access it.

Note: This makes it important for you to remember the password since if you forget it or lose it you won’t be able to access your data.
