McAfee acquired by Intel.

McAfee to be now part of Intel corporation, they have come under agreement with a approximate amount of  7.68 Billion US dollars. Also to mention that BOD’s (Board of Directors) of both firm has confirmed and now awaiting shareholders approval and other approvals and clearance.Now McAfee will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Intel, who will report to Intel’s Software and Services Group which is managed by Renée James, Intel senior vice president, and general manager of the group.

McAfee founded in 1987 is based in Santa Clara and is the world’s largest dedicated security technology company with approximately $2 billion in revenue in 2009.McAfee has around 6,100 employees and more than thousands as outsource /tech support for its customers around the world. McAfee software’s includes security solutions like networks and end point products. Protection for malicious contents for personal pc’s, severs, web servers and networks. Main product sets includes McAfee Total Protection, McAfee Antivirus, McAfee Internet Security, McAfee Firewall, McAfee IPS as well as an expanding line of products targeting mobile devices such as smart phones.
