Windows 8: The era of post PC begins.

Post PC is not about asking to get rid of the PC. It’s about developing a series of devices which can act as a PC for every user. Thus catering both the technical user and a common user in a right balance through the user interface is the post PC thing. The importance of balancing act is to provide equal rich experience to every user. Thus the devices like the ‘Tablet’ or ‘Smartphone’ should be enough able to render same user interface with all the functions of a PC. Catering to this need, Windows has announced the launch of its latest OS “Windows 8” which is compatible with both PC and Tablet. Thus the experience you have over the Tablet would more or less reflect at the PC. The difference would be only at the part of computer screen and hardware difference seen between the two.

The Hardware with Windows 8 goes easy

The hardware requirement though was a bit demanding when it comes to Windows 7 or Vista. However, this is not the case with Windows 8, the hardware requirement is pretty low and therefore; you will find things bigger and better with this product. As far as the resolution is concerned, any beginner can run Windows 8 swiftly at a resolution of 1024×768. However, you can enjoy additional functionality if you go for a higher resolution.

Metro as an important feature of Windows 8

The defining feature of Window 8 is the new user interface simply known as Metro which appears like Windows 7 or the operating system of Apple or rather anything which you must have come across any PC. However, with Metro almost all the clutter of windows traditional interface is off. When you run any application, it will cover the entire display thus you are unable to see the OS, however, with Window 8 you can squeeze two programs at once on the screen. Thus you can see them in a form of tiles with each tile giving the preview information from the App in question, thus resembling like a snapshots from any photo application software. Unlike the other versions of Windows, the 8 version will be hooked to the internet directly, where you will be able to share anything within Metro apps on social networking sites like Facebook. In the same way you can store anything on the MS Skydrive cloud storage service and sync across the multiple PC’s based on Windows 8.

Hassle free features with windows 8

Also Microsoft is adding a feature which will alleviate the pain you have while managing the windows. Here the refresh option would reinstall the OS without hampering any of your applications and settings. This is certainly an interesting part for the users who will be opting for Window 8 over the other OS. These can be controlled by the keyboard and mouse, and with touch screens the metro can rock the user. Metro is extremely finger friendly as you use them the screens and other stuffs would jump around with balletic elegance which goes par to any iPad.

Final word

Though people argue still that there is nothing called as Post PC era, this could however be a closer thing than a phenomena. And people insist upon the fact that these upgrades in the form of OS come and go while there are many more waiting to come. But can we call these features an end of PC era. Whatever goes the debate, with Windows 8, the upgrade means the company is going to have a profitable product in the market. Now it’s the turn of developers to gear up and write outstanding programs and applications for Windows 8 based OS.
