Since Android smart phones and tabs are getting immensely popular, it’s always good to know best practices which you can follow to give best performance and be productive most. Following below are some tips which you can follow to increase your Android device battery life.
- Stop all unwanted application: The biggest problem when using a smart phone is that once you open any application and close it, in reality the application may be still running in the background. So if it’s not required anymore it’s better to stop it. The best way is to access the Task manager which will show the running application and there you have option to end it. It has been seen that in certain versions of Android (like Android 2.2 Froyo) some applications automatically runs in the background like Radio application which I have seen running even after I have exited out from the application.
- Wi-Fi connectivity: This is something we all should take care, when you are not using it, we should always keep it turned off.
- Control sync: This is another one which you should take care of. Android by default may sync all your contacts, messages which is good, but doing it each and every time when you are connected can cause severe battery loss. Well good thing about Android is that you can customize sync, set sync with in a week or one month. Well since you may always switch between your pc and smartphone it may not be so important to have everything synced each and every time.
- Bluetooth, GPS all when required: As said about Wi-Fi above same should be followed with any Bluetooth and GPS connection which you may not require every time and only use it on when required.
- Use battery saving application: In one of earlier posts I have mentioned about an app – Juice Defender app which helps you in saving your battery life. such apps can be really help us and can prove as battery saver. Try it out.
