If you ask people around name one service which they really liked recently over internet world then one among them would be Dropbox. Dropbox is online storage with a difference where you can use it online and also as a folder on your system and it syncs and updates online making you files available for you anywhere.
Well Dropbox has always claimed that the data on its server are super safe and protected/private and use highly secure AES-256 encryption. But recently Dropbox amended their so called Terms and policy by little which world over users have raised finger and many removing their account/deleting their account completely.
Well where the previous terms and policy said “all data is encrypted and no body expect the user can only access the files or contents” which was now changed to “its prohibited for Dropbox employees to check the user data” which makes a doubt on everyone’s mind whether they can access the information. It’s like you are NOT ALLOWED TO VIEW THE USER DATA BUT YOU CAN”.
These developments have raised many concerns over Dropbox users on their privacy and security of data and information stored in the service.
Surely it’s time for Dropbox to give a solid explanation else it may create great hinder in their path of success and can even deplete the number of users which is almost above 25 Million worldwide.
You can read a petition filed by one of the Security research and academic foundation over the same here: FTC petition over Dropbox change in recent terms. (original source: Wired.com)
Hope Dropbox clears all the concerns and makes it safe for all its users.
