Quick Tip – How to disable auto complete on Outlook 2010.

If you are using Outlook 2010, you might have noted that whenever you type mail id on the To, CC or BCC fields of compose message it suggests your or it auto completes the entry. Well if you are someone who is using outlook mail to send email to many different users from different domains this feature can sometimes be annoying. Whatever it is the good news is that you can completely remove/disable this auto complete feature and in this post I will explain how. Follow the below steps.

  1. Open Outlook and click on the file on button on the top.
  2. Select Options from the dropdown, which will open Outlook Options window.
  3. Select Mail from right side and scroll down to find Send Messages options and uncheck Use Auto-Complete lists to suggest names when typing in the To, CC and BCC lines.
  4. Click OK and that’s it.

Hope this helped, do comment. 🙂

How to disable auto complete on Outlook 2011? Looks more like 2010 to me.

And I’d still like to know how to turn it off on the Mac. Thanks!
