Clear Firefox Dropbox profile conflicts with FirefoxProfileCleaner.

If you are using Dropbox there would be no doubt that you would be fan of this service. If you are using your favorite Firefox portable browser with Dropbox add-on the advantage is that you can use the same settings of your Firefox same as your home pc, laptop or your Office pc. This is very handy for users who have saved lots of favorites, settings and login information’s saved in Firefox. With Dropbox and Firefox you can avail all same settings all around your network. But there is common issue which occurs when using such facility. It’s the profile conflict. Suppose you have made a lot of change on the Firefox (like adding add-on etc) on your office pc and once you login back in your laptop you see a conflict issue. This creates problem since Dropbox normally keeps both the copy. Well now you can solve this issue completely with a Dropbox Firefox add-on – FirefoxProfileCleaner. This would be very handy application for all who uses Firefox extensively.

Prerequisite: You need to install .Net Framework 3.5 for this add-on to work.

How to use FirefoxProfileCleaner.

1. Download the add-on and unzip it.

2. Open the FirefoxProfileCleaner.exe.config with Notepad.

3. Now replace _REPLACE WITH YOUR PATH TO THE MOZILLA FIREFOX PROFILE DIRECTORY_ with the path to the profile directory.

  • IMPORTANT: Edit only the value and nothing else. (example: C:\Users\Your User Name\Documents\My Dropbox\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile)

4. Save the file

5. Run the FirefoxProfileCleaner.exe
